Choosing the right puppy for you and your family is an exciting yet challenging adventure! There are so many breeds to choose from so how can you be sure which one is for you? Well, if you’re a first-time puppy owner, you’re in for a real treat!

There are numerous cute and lovable dog that are absolutely perfect for new puppy parents. Although it’s hard to rank all dogs equally, these breeds are generally affectionate, trainable, and friendly.

1. Papillon

Friendly and happy, the Papillon is a great furry companion that thrives as both an exercise buddy and a couch potato. This cute breed does not need much exercise but if you toss their favorite chew toy, they will definitely chase after it. Despite their small size and elegant appearance, Papillons are sturdy little pups, and are able to adapt to warm and cold weather. They do well in various types of households, including families with children.

2. Bichon Frise

Similar to a fluffy cotton ball, the Bichon Frise is a happy-go-lucky, playful, and curious puppy breed that act friendly even with strangers. 3. English Springer Spaniel

4. Whippet

The Whippet is an excellent house dog that has a calm and playful personality. These pups are usually quiet and low maintenance, preferring to spend long hours of their day napping on the couch. Known for being deeply devoted to their owners, the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier is a happy, confident and alert dog. They enjoy getting plenty of exercise but won’t hesitate to cuddle next to you on the couch. Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers are good with children and adaptable to all living environments. Because of their soft coat, this breed does not shed much but does need grooming to avoid matting.
