On Saturday, September 28, we at Petland Florida proudly walked in support of people with autism and their loved ones at this year’s Autism Speaks Walk!

This year’s walk took place at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL. Many participants showed up to raise autism awareness to help those with autism lead fulfilling lives. With every step every participant takes during the walk, Autism Speaks is able to raise money to continue research on the causes of autism and providing individuals with helpful information.

The organization also works hard to give those with autism a voice with legislators so that they can receive the resources they need to find employment, therapy, and other necessities. 

One of the goals for Autism Speaks is to further educate the community about autism and encourage acceptance. Through these efforts, people with autism can live happy lives as contributing members to society. We at Petland Florida heavily support the core mission of Autism Speaks, and want to help these individuals be themselves. 

We are happy to have participated in this year’s Autism Speaks walk and to continue supporting our community. We look forward to walking again next year and helping out individuals with autism through our efforts.
