We are incredibly excited to share that Angel Rodriguez from the WOW Center had a chance to intern at our Kendall store location once again.
During the internship, Angel was able to help our staff at Petland Kendall with numerous in-store tasks, such as organizing our items and caring for our puppies. He also learned about how we run the store and important information about our breeds.
We understand how difficult it is for someone with autism to find employment after high school. According to MarketWatch, around 85% of individuals with autism remain unemployed, compared to the national unemployment average.
Our mission at Petland extends towards our community—we want to give as much help as we can to enhance the lives of those with autism. For this reason, we provide people with autism and other disabilities with employment experience so that they can fulfill their dreams.
Our experience with our intern has been phenomenal. We loved having such a hard-working and determined individual continue to help us run the store and learn about who we are. We would like to thank the WOW Center for helping us further our mission in enriching our community.
We hope that Angel has gained many valuable skills from being a part of the Petland Florida family. We can’t wait to have another intern become a part of the Petland Florida family in the future!
